Nonsequitur: “Obamacare Incompetence”

April 3, 2013

This week, Joe Klein delivered a scathing indictment from the left on Obama’s inability to lead.  The focus was healthcare.  But Klein wasn’t critical of the law itself, or of how the law was passed, or even of negative effects that law has had on patients or employers.  Basically, Klein says that Obama and company are unable to administer their own law due to political and administrative incompetence.  Klein concludes that if Obamacare fails, it will be because of Obama.

I’m not sure why this is a surprise to Klein.  The President has “won” most of his major battles:  the stimulus, Obamacare, payroll tax increase, income tax increase for “the rich,” raising the debt ceiling, etc.  Even the Sequester was Obama’s idea.  But with each one of these “wins,” the results have failed to meet even the administration’s own goals, much less resolving our chronic problems of high unemployment, ballooning debt, $Trillion deficits, and, yes, the high cost of healthcare.  The real problem isn’t “Obamacare Incompetence.”  It is Obama’s incompetence.
