What Difference Does It Make? The White House Knew About Benghazi
January 15, 2014
Declassified documents show that top military advisors to the President knew immediately after the Benghazi attack began that it was a terrorist attack, not a political demonstration. Both General Dempsey and Secretary of Defense were advised this prior to their September 11th meeting with President Obama. Basically, both President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton were told by military advisors that the attack on the consulate was an organized terror attack, not a spontaneous political demonstration. Yet both claimed for several weeks that it was not a terrorist attack. The attack, in which Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans were killed, occurred just prior to the 2012 Presidential Election. More details here.
