Nonsequitur: Negotiating with Iran

February 15, 2014

How are negotiation with Iran going? Well, without the sanctions, Iran will gain over $20 Billion in increased oil exports and unfrozen financial assets.

Will this mean Iranians will reduce the production of weapon-grade plutonium? Nope. Nope. And nope.

Well, at least the negotiations are easing hostilities in the region and decreasing the chances for violence and war, right? Uh … nope. Nope. And nope.

Whether it is Russia, Syria, China, North Korea or Iran, President Obama fails to understand that the greatest chance for diplomacy to work comes with the threat of force. The President has made it very clear to the world that he cannot or will not use the full force of American might. He no doubt believes this demonstrates that we are trustworthy and respectful of other cultures. But our enemies, apparently, see it as weakness and folly. I fear they are right.
