Nonsequitur: Unemployment Down Slightly to 6.1%

Last month, unemployment declined by 0.2 % to 6.1%. Long-term unemployment was down (very good news), but involuntary part-time employment (those who took a part-time job, but wanted a full-time job) was up. The civilian labor participation rate stayed the same, 62.8%. Not a bad report. But no significant change in the pattern of anemic employment.
