Nonsequitur: Missing E-mails Aren’t Missing After All

Multiple IRS officials testified to Congress that Lois Lerner’s e-mails were unrecoverable, lost when her hard drive crashed and a back-up was accidently erased. But a court-mandated review has led Justice Department lawyers to admit that the federal government keeps a back-up copy of every email and record in the event of a government-wide catastrophe. Not only were Lois Lerner’s e-mails preserved, so were a dozen other IRS officials’ messages which were also subpoenaed. (Marilyn Tavenner of DHS also had “lost” e-mails which were backed up.)
