Nonsequitur: Jobs Up, Unemployment Steady
December 5, 2014
According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, 321,000 jobs were added last month, but the unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.8%. That’s actually good news, as it means more of the long term unemployed started looking for work again.
Of course, a lot of those new jobs were seasonal and part-time. 6.9 million workers were “persons employed part time for economic reasons” who really want/need full-time work. And the seasonal jobs will end when the holidays are over.
The full monthly report is here.
