Nonsequitur: Weak Jobs Report

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate held at 5.1% for September. Only 142,000 new jobs were created, mostly in health care. The civilian labor force participation rate declined to 62.4 percent. Really, the only good news was that involuntary part-time employment declined by 447,000 to 6.0 million.
